Overview
The Contact System is how your organization connects to others on the platform. It handles everything between organizations: discovery, trust, sharing, and the secure connections that move data.
What you can do here
Section titled “What you can do here”- Discover partner organizations and make yourself discoverable.
- Peer with partners by exchanging and accepting requests.
- Register servers you operate and optionally share them.
- Publish channels and grant partners scoped access to them.
- Provision connections — encrypted peer-to-peer tunnels for data or admin access.
- Monitor the health and connectivity of your gateways.

The core workflow
Section titled “The core workflow”Most work follows the same path:
Register a server → peer with a partner → grant channel access → provision a connection.
If you’re new, the Quickstart walks the whole path in one sitting.
Privacy model
Section titled “Privacy model”The platform shares only what it needs to. Both parties to a connection can see each other’s server names and descriptions (so you know what you’re connected to), but sensitive material like registration tokens and shared secrets is filtered and only shown to the side that owns it. Secrets are never returned in list views — they’re available only through a dedicated, one-time reveal. See Connections.
